Surviving the first week - check
Well guys, it's been a week and so far I've survived to tell the tale.
I can happily report that's it's not a bad as I thought it would be but, mind you, this has only been the first week and they've only been "introducing" us to the different subject areas. I can honestly say that coming into the last days of the week when the courses started to pick up momentum I saw several glimpses of how bad it could potentially get, and yet I still have this dreadful feeling that I really have no idea.
Half of the lecturers are boing as expect, but the others surprisingly have a sense of humour. The lecture theatre is freezing...but we have new chairs, which anyone having seen the originals will understand how great that is.
Sharing my classes with 184 people is another experience. Now we've been in a group of a little over 30 people who have disagreements in meeting, and so we know how difficult and noisy it can get trying to decide stuff that most people can agree with. Now try to imagine that about 5 time worse cause there are more opinions and even when people have the same opinion but worded differently they disagree with each other. (don't be fooled into thinking these are med-students who should be "mature" enough to come to a consensus... you'ld be sadly disappointed).
All in all though it's been a good week, no complaints yet.
I still want to cut off that lecturer's thing though Hayden (and no perverts, it's nothing dirty)
Next week - working with cadavers
