The Syndrome Theory

Last night a particular bass pan player who shall remail nameless disclosed an interesting theory based on observations he made when he first arrived in Jamaica.
See, when he first reached UWI he was hard pressed to find any attractive females, which was rather disheartening for him, having just left Trinidad and all with atleast "4 out of any 5" females being gorgeous. He even went as far as to keeping tally with his other Trini friend to see how many encounters with beautiful females they would have in a day, which sadly was rarely more than 1, if that lucky.

At this point now there was some weak attempt by one of the Jamaican guys at the table to disagree, to which this nameless bass player who likes to whine on pans, poles and anything else he can to every type of music possible, basically said that the standard of Jamaican men has been lowered... and something to the effect of ignorance is bliss was chimed in.

He did state though that he found that the more time he spent in Ja the better the females started to look...he went as far as to calling the effect "a syndrome".
Note, this is not to be confused with getting to know a person who doesn't look all that great but because they have a wonderful personality they start to look better to you. No, apparently we jamaican women have something somewhat "infectious" about us that despite our apparent initial "grotesque" appearance, the more time you spend around us the better we will start to look.
Later in trying to "help" a few of us girls understand better, One of the guys even went as far as to compare it to a sailor who has been out to sea and hasn't been with a female in a looooooong time thinking that the first woman he sets eyes on is gorgeous though she might actually look like a horse's arse.

So there is the theory, which I have tried to relate in as an unbiased way as I can in order to get objective feedback from you guys.
Agree or disagree?

Luck vs. Power

You Are Balanced - Realist - Empowered

You feel your life is controlled both externally and internally.
You have a good sense of what you can control and what you should let go.
Depending on the situation, you sometimes try to exert more control.
Other times, you accept things for what they are and go with the flow.

You are a realist when it comes to luck.
You don't attribute everything to luck, but you do know some things are random.
You don't beat yourself up when bad things happen to you...
But you do your best to try to make your own luck.

You have a good deal of power, but you also know the pecking order.
You realize that working the system does get you further.
You know who to defer to and who to control.
When it comes to the game of life, you play things flawlessly.

?

How is it that weeks can be rushing by before my very eyes and at the same time I'm bucking in 1 hr classes that feel like they last atleast 3 hrs?
(And yes I do know and understand the theory of relativity.)
