The stupidity (and arrogance)of Americans has been a quality that I've learnt to adjust to whenever I visit the states. Most times they provide moments of amusement when difficulty in completing tasks which only require common sense makes you realize that common sense is quite uncommon.
While passing thru Miami International airport recently such a moment witnessed. I still can't fully get over the ridiculousness of the situation but it occured nonetheless. A typical American male, while trying to get thru security check to get to his gate, handed the officer at the door his boarding pass. Ofcourse the officer asked to see his passport, to which the man replied he had checked it in with his baggage.
?!?!?!
Despite his obvious disbelief at the man's ridiculous answer, the security officer pressed on to ask if he had any form of picture ID on him. The man again replied that he had checked it in with his luggage. He had checked in his wallet with all forms of ID with his luggage.
?!?!?!
Was it that this was his first international flight? He was unfamiliar with the procedures at the airport? He had done this by mistake?
I don't know but to make matters worse the guy then turns around and proceeds to cuss at the top of his lungs as if it was the security who was being stupid.
?
Ahh, It's good to be home. (for now)
